A long time ago, in a village at the edge of a forest, there lived a girl named Mira.
Πριν από πολύ καιρό, σε ένα χωριό στην άκρη ενός δάσους, ζούσε ένα κορίτσι που το έλεγαν Μίρα.
Mira was not tall and she was not strong, but she was very kind.
Η Μίρα δεν ήταν ψηλή και δεν ήταν δυνατή, αλλά ήταν πολύ ευγενική.
Every evening, her grandmother gave her a small lantern.
Κάθε βράδυ, η γιαγιά της της έδινε ένα μικρό φανάρι.
The lantern had a warm yellow light.

Mira carried it to the edge of the village and hung it on an old wooden post.
