The autumn breeze had brought a sudden downpour, forcing Clara to seek shelter inside her favorite neighborhood café. She brushed a few droplets of rain from her cotton trench coat before stepping toward the wooden counter. The comforting smell of freshly roasted coffee beans immediately filled the warm room. As she waited in line, Clara shook her canvas umbrella and placed it gently in the stand near the entrance. Unfortunately, every single small table appeared to be occupied by students, writers, and local residents seeking refuge from the storm. Near the large bay window, a small round table had only one chair filled. A tall man with wire-rimmed glasses was sitting there, deeply focused on a thick sketchbook.
