A long time ago, in a village at the edge of a forest, there lived a girl named Mira.
นานมาแล้ว ในหมู่บ้านริมป่า มีเด็กหญิงคนหนึ่งชื่อมีราอาศัยอยู่
Mira was not tall and she was not strong, but she was very kind.
มีราไม่สูงและไม่แข็งแรง แต่เธอใจดีมาก
Every evening, her grandmother gave her a small lantern.
ทุกเย็น ยายของเธอจะมอบโคมไฟเล็กๆ ให้เธอ
The lantern had a warm yellow light.
โคมไฟมีแสงสีเหลืองอบอุ่น
Mira carried it to the edge of the village and hung it on an old wooden post.
มีรานํามันไปที่ขอบหมู่บ้านและแขวนไว้บนเสาไม้เก่า
Why do we do this every night?

Mira asked.

Her grandmother smiled.
