A long time ago, in a village at the edge of a forest, there lived a girl named Mira.
ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਜੰਗਲ ਦੇ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ, ਮੀਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਲੜਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ।
Mira was not tall and she was not strong, but she was very kind.

Every evening, her grandmother gave her a small lantern.

Mira carried it to the edge of the village and hung it on an old wooden post.

Her grandmother smiled.
