The Fisherman and the Small Lighthouse

동해의 작은 항구에 등대 하나가 서 있었다.

A lighthouse stood in a small port on the East Sea.

박씨는 그 앞에서 평생 고기를 잡았다.

Park spent his whole life catching fish in front of him.

그는 등대 불빛만 보고도 방향을 알았다.

He knew the direction just by looking at the lighthouse light.

어느 겨울밤 정전으로 등대가 꺼졌다.

One winter night, the lighthouse went out due to a blackout.

바다에는 배 세 척이 아직 남아 있었다.

Three ships still remained at sea.

박씨는 자기 배의 전등을 모두 켰다.

Park turned on all the lights on his boat.

그리고 밤새도록 같은 자리에 떠 있었다.

And it floated in the same spot all night.

세 척 모두 무사히 항구로 돌아왔다.

All three ships safely returned to the harbor.
