Pie jūras kāpas dzīvoja sieviete vārdā Zenta.

By the sea dune lived a woman named Zenta.

Katru vasaras vakaru viņa gāja uz kāpu dziedāt.

Every summer evening she would go to the dune to sing.

Dziesmas bija vecas un tās zināja tikai viņa.

The songs were old, and only she knew them.

Sākumā klausījās tikai jūra un vējš.

At first, only the sea and wind listened.

Pēc dažiem gadiem atnāca kaimiņu bērni.

A few years later, the neighbors' children arrived.

Vēlāk atnāca cilvēki no citām pilsētām.

Later, people came from other cities.

Vienā vasarā uz kāpas bija divi simti klausītāju.

One summer, there were two hundred listeners on the dune.

Zenta dziedāja tieši tāpat kā vienatnē.
